Now that we’re well into November (and the move to San Diego is finally complete), I figured it might be time to get this summer weddings post written! Every wedding that I was lucky enough to coordinate over the past few months was just brimming with joy and love; I really can’t explain how lucky I feel to have been able to work with such friendly, easygoing couples!
Harmony & Justin
Harmony and Justin tied the knot on May 7th at LA’s Union Station. We couldn’t have possibly asked for more perfect weather; their beautiful ceremony and reception went off without a hitch (and dinner, crafted lovingly by Traxx, was amazing!). Harmony was such a radiant and gracious bride, and Justin complements her perfectly.
Bernice & Felix
Bernice and Felix’s wedding embodied their history together in a very literal sense, and in probably the most adorable way possible. Their July 10th ceremony took place on the blacktop of the elementary school where they both work (and met). Bernice was so well organized that my job was a total breeze!
Their school theme was threaded through their Pasadena reception as well, with a chalkboard welcome sign, color-in sheets for the kids, and mini gumball machine favors. How cute!
Dana & Jimmy
To wrap up July, Dana and Jimmy tied the knot at the intimate Santiago Oaks Regional Park. The number 23 has great significance to Jimmy’s family and was woven throughout the day in several ways, including the number of years they plan to wait before opening their ceremony time capsule. I just love the idea of being able to experience brand new parts of a wedding day years down the line. Both families were so involved throughout the planning process; Dana and Jimmy had a great team behind them!
Their reception was held at the home of Jimmy’s parents, and trust me, this was no normal house! Guest entertainment was setup throughout, including Mario Kart on projector, pinball machines, air hockey, pool, and the endless animal bodies and busts decorating every available floor and wall space. It was honestly one of the coolest houses I’ve ever been in. Not to be outdone, of course, the backyard is centered around a gorgeous rock façade, through which runs multiple waterfalls and – yes – a waterslide going into the pool below. Dana was incredibly on top of everything throughout the entire process (even crafting all – yes, all – of the décor herself) and was a pleasure to work with. I’m truly lucky to have been able to get to know this wonderful couple!
Congratulations, everyone!
